Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to operate and improve NurseCards:

• Account data. Email, hashed password, and basic metadata provided during signup or through your institution.
• Study content. Deck titles, card prompts/answers, uploaded files, and AI-generated flashcards.
• Usage data. Device info, app version, diagnostics, and interaction events captured by Better Stack logs and Sentry crash reporting (you can disable diagnostics in Settings > Profile).
• Support data. Messages you send to support, bug reports, or survey responses.

How We Use Information

We process the data above to:

• Create and maintain your account, collections, and study progress.
• Generate flashcards via our AI pipeline and deliver personalized spaced-repetition schedules.
• Send essential notifications (e.g., password resets, study reminders).
• Monitor uptime, diagnose issues, and protect the service from abuse.
• Comply with legal requirements and enforce our Terms.

How We Share Information

We never sell your personal data. We only share information with:

• Service providers. Render (hosting), Supabase (authentication + database), Better Stack (logging), and Sentry (crash analytics) process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality.
• AI vendors. When you request AI-generated cards, we transmit the relevant prompt fragments to our AI provider. We scrub PHI and unnecessary identifiers before sending.
• Legal authorities. If required by law, regulation, or court order, we may disclose information consistent with due process.

Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary to deliver the service. You can delete your account anytime inside the app (Settings → Profile → Delete account). We queue the deletion, revoke tokens, and remove remaining backups within 30 days unless law requires otherwise.

Security

NurseCards encrypts data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Secrets remain on the server, and mobile tokens are stored in the system keychain. Despite best efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use unique, strong passwords.

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Export a copy of your study content.
• Opt out of diagnostics and crash reporting.
• Appeal automated moderation or content decisions.

Children

NurseCards is intended for learners aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. We will post updates here and, when material, notify you in-app or via email. Continued use of NurseCards means you accept the revised policy.
